Apna time naye ayega, Kyu?
Even 1% progress today is better than a perfect plan tomorrow
Dear Present Me,
I'm writing to you from 5 months in the future, and there's something I need to tell you about that phrase you keep mumbling to yourself – "Apna time ayega" (our time will come).
You know those nights when you're lying in bed, scrolling through success stories, telling yourself "my time will come too"? I remember them well. Too well. Because that's all we did for so long – wait.
I need you to understand something I learned the hard way: Time never "came." I had to go get it.
Remember that morning when you hit snooze for the fifth time, telling yourself "I'll start fresh tomorrow"? And that business idea you kept in your notes app, waiting for the "right moment"? Or that skill you wanted to learn but kept putting off until "things settle down"?
Let me tell you what actually changed everything for me – for us.
It wasn't a magical moment. It wasn't a sudden breakthrough. It wasn't even a great opportunity falling into my lap. It was the day I stopped waiting for "our time" and started creating it instead.
You know what made a difference? Subscribing to TinyWins newsletter was one of those small steps that opened my eyes to the power of tiny progress. Each edition pushed me a little further, made me a little stronger.
Missing once is an accident. Missing twice is the start of
a new habit. Never miss twice.
Here's what I did and want you to do now to travel to the “Future you” I'm living in:
Those People You Admire?
They weren't gifted with special time management powers. While we were saying "Apna time ayega," they were showing up every day, making tiny progress. They weren't waiting for motivation – they were building habits.
That Perfect Moment You're Waiting For?
It doesn't exist. I wasted months waiting for it. The perfect moment is now, with all its imperfections, challenges, and obstacles. Start anyway.
Those Excuses That Feel So Real?
"I'm not ready."
"I need more experience."
"Let me just watch one more tutorial."
Future you is pleading you – stop. Just stop.
Here's what I (Your future you) did differently, and what you need to do starting today
Started waking up 30 minutes earlier (not 2 hours – just 30 minutes)
Committed to 25 minutes of focused work on my goals before opening social media
Stopped waiting for annual resolutions and started making daily micro-commitments
You know that voice in your head that says "I'll start when..."? Complete that sentence with "now" instead.
Want to know something funny?
The day things started changing wasn't special. It was a regular Tuesday. I just decided to stop waiting for my time and start taking it.The 1% improvements you make today? I'm living their compound effect right now. And trust me, you'll want to start building them sooner rather than later. Your time isn't coming. But you can start creating it in the next 5 minutes. What will you do with those 5 minutes?
Happy Diwali
With love and urgency,
Future You
Tinywins Growth Stories 😀
Karthik Bhaskar's(Author of Tinywins) Tiny Win: "I had promised myself I would join the gym and start my transformation. Instead of letting another day slip by with just a promise, today I took my first tiny step – made an enquiry at the gym and committed to a joining date. Not a massive achievement, but definitely better than yesterday's mere promise. This is what 1% progress looks like – turning intentions into tiny actions."
Remember, your journey of a thousand miles begins with a single phone call, a small commitment, or even just an enquiry. What's your tiny win going to be today?
